About the Contributors
Landen Paproth
Landen Paproth, Podcast Staff
Landen Paproth (12) is in his first year of publications, working as a podcast host for Hawk Tawk Productions.    Paproth finds both social media and Hollywood very interesting, and has centered his podcast, Tea Time with Landon, around dissecting the elusive and excluding status of celebrity and pop culture as a whole.    Paproth is also a musician, playing the viola since he was in the third grade. He currently plays in the Indian Trail Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras, and has previously played in the Indian Trail String, Concert, and Pops Orchestras.    Whenever he has free time, he enjoys practicing his instrument, watching TV shows and exploring social media. While he may enjoy TV shows, he does not find movies and films as amusing. This, however, does not stop him from enjoying the occasional horror or thriller movie.    Paproth plans on going to the Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he will study the tracking of finances in the business field.   “While I may not be doing this for a career, my passion for inspecting and understanding pop culture will never subside,” Paproth said.
Laura Nicholson
Laura Nicholson, Podcast Staff
Laura Nicholson (12)  is a first-year script writer and co-host in Hawk Talk Productions. Podcasting is a new class in the Journalism department. She has always had an interest in podcasting. Listening to a few crime and mystery podcasts had her hooked. When she was given the opportunity to join Podcasting she took it. A bonus was the class being brand new so she wanted to help build the class from the bottom up and provide a hand in setting a structure for the future classes. Nicholson is a passionate orchestra player, playing since 2nd grade. She’s in the Chamber Orchestra now and is participating in Solo and Ensemble.  In Nicholson’s free-time, she participates in digital and traditional art. Playing violin outside of school as well as taking part in her mom’s workplace as a volunteer. Her volunteer work includes helping out with tax preparations and organizing the documents. She plans on attending UW-Milwaukee next fall to study Mathematics and Art & Design. She plans to join the community and audition for the symphony orchestra.  “I took the opportunity to try something new and different. It’s always cool to gain experience in different fields.”
Margot Torresin
Margot Torresin, Podcast Staff
Margot Torresin, senior, is working as a staff writer for Hawk Talk Productions during the 23-24 school year.   It’s a natural extension to who she is, since Torresin has been drawn to the pen all her life.  It was in elementary school where she first conjured short stories in the margins of her notebook, gradually expanding to screenplays, radio scripts, and poetry.   Currently working as a camera operator for Gateway’s WGTD network, Torresin broadcasts sports, commercials  and community events.  Torresin is also an avid filmmaker, and has received the Digital Design Award for Excellence for her short film, No Way Out.   In her free time, Torresin engages in her passions of photography and travel.  She enjoys taking photos of her friends and the world around her.    She has been accepted to the honors program at Columbia College Chicago, where she will attend next fall, studying film and television.   “If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this life it’s that if you see the beauty in something, you don’t wait for others to agree” Torresin said.
