Getting a car as a teenager is considered a rite of passage, although it’s not a full necessity. Even if it’s expensive, a lot of people are expected to own one to be able to travel anywhere. While Onyx doesn’t quite own one just yet, he talks about why cars are such a big requirement for a teenager’s life and why it’s the biggest ticket to teenage freedom.

Jaslene “Onyx” Dominguez-Reza, Podcast Staff
Jaslene “Onyx” Dominguez-Reza, junior, an aspiring artist and part-time podcaster. He has been in publication classes since his freshman year and has gone on to work as a podcaster while also being an adamant part of Indian Trail’s GSA Club.
Outside of podcasting, Onyx practices voice acting and creating a passion project show that is currently in development. Since first grade he has been interested and is constantly improving his art skills and artwork. He reads in his spare time, sings, and posts his artwork on his social media to build a name for himself.
Onyx is currently planning on attending university, with the goal of becoming a storyboard artist and character designer as well as possibly
voice acting professionally. “Even if the day seems awful, I don’t dwell on it because I know eventually things will smooth out.”
